About this artwork
In this piece, I poured my soul into every stroke of oil and wax, blending figurative shapes with a semi-abstract rhythm. It’s a serene landscape of blues and greens, evoking calm and introspection. This artwork invites you to lose yourself in its gentle flow, filling your space with peaceful energy and quiet wonder. It’s a heartfelt serenade to the beauty found in simplicity and nature’s embrace.
The title is from a song by Richard Hawley. (All… the titles of my paintings are parts of song lyrics). Painted on quality canvas, ready to hang. The sides of the canvas are painted as well. It ships in a box-frame, but can hang without perfectly.
« The landscape is an illusion: once you get in, it is gone. My paintings are an illusion too, not an existing place, but a composition with all kinds of landscape elements. »
Rob van Hoek is an experienced artist from the Netherlands whose work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions internationally. After visiting many art museums as a child, van Hoek eventually took up a practice of his own, creating patchwork style landscapes in oil and cold wax on canvas. His paintings are full of textures and complementary color schemes, bringing a semi-abstract take on traditional landscape painting.
