« Highly disciplined and dedicated to experimentation, my current practice explores the relationship between paint and movement. »
Influenced graphical elements such as maps and pixelated images, and graphs, the grid system plays an important role in Robert Padley's current works. The painter and photographer, who is based in the United Kingdom, endeavors to recreate these images in paint while also representing landscapes that he finds interesting, including seascapes and foggy beaches. Padley explores the way oils "behave" when applied both horizontally and vertically, akin to weaving with paint.
