Wally Althoff works with gouaches, pigments, inks, mixed media, cold wax, and encaustic painting. She incorporates her passion for painting and beekeeping into her work. She combines abstract naturalism and realistic abstractions of faces and landscapes with graphic reduction, both in her paintings and in her own encaustic technique. Her works convey a deep appreciation for the beauty of life and the magic in every human face—powerful, airy, and poetically fragile.
