Asami Goto (五島アサミ) is a contemporary artist whose practice spans two distinct disciplines: Nihonga (traditional Japanese painting) and her original Geometric Embroidery + Sumi Ink Art.
Her Nihonga works draw upon the spiritual and aesthetic traditions of Japanese art, exploring quiet atmospheres and the hidden structures that lie beneath visible forms.
Through Geometric Embroidery + Sumi Ink Art, she combines organic cotton, natural silk threads, sumi ink, and gold and silver leaf to explore the underlying structures of nature, where geometry and organic rhythms quietly intersect.
Goto has exhibited internationally in France, the United States, Spain, Japan, and other countries. She received the Excellence Award at an exhibition held at The National Art Center, Tokyo.
She is a Full Member of the Japan Artists Association (JAA) and holds the International Identity Card for Professional Artists (IAA).
