About this artwork
In this work, I explore the human body as a vehicle for color, emotion, and inner tension. I wanted to depict the back, usually a quiet, inconspicuous subject, as a luminous landscape that reveals more about a person than their face.
While painting, I was guided by how energy feels in the body: warm, vibrant, sometimes broken, sometimes powerful. The intense colors represent inner states that are pushing outwards, a mixture of vulnerability and… strength.
I'm fascinated by how a body, even when its back is turned to us, can carry an entire story. This painting is an attempt to make precisely this invisible story visible. Every area of color, every trace is an impulse, a feeling, a moment that found its own way during the creative process.
