About this artwork
This piece was constructed on a hand-stretched canvas. It was meticulously created with soft layers of acrylic paint collaged with painted strips of torn watercolor paper. Some of the layers have text applied with photo transfer techniques. The colors were inspired by the sea, sky, and beach of my home in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Typically my work is photography based, so painting is a freeing experience and an exercise in creating an immersive color… experience.

Adam Collier Noel is an American artist who has exhibited his works in the United States. In his artistic process, he combines varied techniques and materials with photography, creating bold mixed-media collages with abstract elements. Noel is inspired by his archive of found photographs, which portray both universal and intensely personal aspects of the human experience. He forms new and engaging narratives by repurposing imagery of the past, transcending time.
