About this artwork
It's a work that speaks of these recent times in which the sun is always obscured. Its golden light is covered by a milky veil, seemingly lifeless... The sky is no longer the same. Within a few hours, enormous gray trails expand and cover everything, blocking the golden rays that had reached the Earth. It's not clear whether this change is intentional, as some claim and have declared... What is certain is that I feel hurt, helpless, and defrauded…
of such an important and necessary gift for the life of every living being... and somehow, in my own way, I had to "say it"...

Adriana Montali primarily uses acrylic on canvas, but also experiments with wood, cardboard, ceramic, and textured materials, drawing on her training as an art teacher and extensive artistic education. Her "really abstract" technique blends informal abstraction, spatula strokes, scratches, plants, and gold leaf, creating works that dialogue between reality and transfiguration. Her works invite the viewer on an inner journey and a search for meaning, conveying a profound desire to go "beyond," toward personal awareness and the infinite.
