It's cold outside. The sofa is that warm, reassuring refuge where the day ends.
You snuggle into the familiar warmth but it almost feels like it's slipping away from you.
Everything you have created is your shield.
It's ironic to think how the very thing that should be closest to you, actually fails to touch you.
A bit like being in a bubble, which will probably never burst.
A bit like looking at yourself from the outside.
A bit like feeling… wrong.
But this is not the time to think about it.
You just want to try and enjoy that warmth.
You're in the family.
You feel alone.
And that's okay.

Adriano Scarano is a self-taught painter, illustrator, and digital artist born in 1998 in Mottola (Taranto, Italy). He has been in love with art since he was young. He paints instinctively on treated cotton canvas, preferring oil paints (although he also works with acrylics) and adopting a spontaneous approach to pencil drawing, where faces are deliberately concealed to emphasize posture. His works delve into introspection, conveying a profound empathy for loneliness, sadness, and weariness, inviting viewers to recognize themselves and feel understood, never alone. Many of his works have been exhibited virtually and physically throughout Italy (Martina Franca, Monopoli, Florence). His work "Guy 451" was also used as the cover of the book "Il fermo proposito" by Cosimo Scarano, published by Algra Editore.
