For ‘April Kennedy, Agent X has created a bright and brilliant mash-up of iconic Pop Art aesthetics and digital collage techniques. In homage to the work of Roy Lichtenstein, Agent X intercuts cartoon imagery with panels of poppy pattern, colour, and texture, to create visual harmony out of haphazard composition. Agent X is the pseudonym of an artist based in Canada whose works have been exhibited nationally, in the United States, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, South Korea, Taiwan, and Portugal. Describing him/herself as a "cultural explorer and agent of the unknown", Agent X's compositions juxtapose pop culture, technology, fashion, and music in an engaging manner that expresses the anxieties of the post-modern world, as well as the dark side of consumerism and a media-obsessed culture.
