About this artwork
Humanity finds its pinnacle in the capacity to love.
Love is relationship; it is the ability to go out of one's self to go towards the you.
In “Attesa” I wanted to represent this tension: the woman stretches outwards, almost as if she were rising forward towards the spectator; her gaze fixed on him who is observing her becomes a question, a request. It pushes the spectator to an answer, an answer to her love.
It follows that the request is towards… the beloved.
And the love relationship is a creative energy, which generates other love: in the golden ribbon on the belly there is the premise, or perhaps already the reality, of a new life: “Waiting” therefore also becomes a sweet wait, the fruit of love between a man and a woman.
Even pictorially this dimension of the relationship is expressed with the background that enters into a relationship with the human figure.
