About this artwork
This work is titled "Marche Winter" because I took the photograph of the large olive tree in the snow in the Marche region, in central Italy, where I lived for many years.
I like to play with surface textures, in this case created with a wavy movement that breaks the smooth surface with a relief.
The large olive tree in the snow is a photograph of mine, then processed on the computer and printed on cardboard.
The roughness of its bark harmonizes… well with the precious fabric in which the photo is inserted, like a frame.
The addition of colored yarns then makes the whole thing what it is: a game made of formal language, artistic language, which uses elements and images to convey the sense of the preciousness of the creation.
