About this artwork
A study painting made of Monstera leaves. The scene is a study for a larger scene and is based at a local botanical garden in Wales. Inspired by a residency in Goa, India, I have begun to expand my creative resources working in relation to local gardens and green spaces in an attempt to connect much more with local green surroundings.
This painting was included in the Royal Cambrian Academy Open Exhibition 2021 (Conwy, Wales, UK).

« Being in ‘paint mode’ is in one sense like stepping into another world, another realm where possibilities are endless. »
Aidan Myers is an artist based in the United Kingdom where his paintings have been featured in numerous group and solo events. He describes his artistic practice as being connected by “non-linear” ideas where he is receptive to the underlying thoughts, memories, and energies associated with something that he has experienced. For Myers, the act of painting organizes these perceptions into visual images that re-interpret or re-imagine the particular moment.
