About this artwork
In this work, I wanted to capture the raw force and pure energy of the regatta of IMOCA sailboats, giants of the seas that defy the winds and waves. Using oil, collage and sand, I created a texture and dynamism that evokes the roughness and beauty of the marine world. The tall, powerful sails, partly abstract and partly figurative, seem to rise out of the canvas, bringing a sense of movement and brash adventure. Every brushstroke and grain of sand… tells a story of passion, freedom and the elusive immensity of the ocean.
Alain Abramatic, painter passionate about water and earth, uses oil paint and collages on a textured canvas. He energetically prints marks with a brush and plays with transparencies to create dynamic vibrations, enriched with colors and textures revealed by sand. His works, full of finesse, express the sensations of detailed movement and energy of wind, waves and sailboats, inviting a journey linked to his personal experiences and memories.
