About this artwork
Crosswind sailing is an exhilarating experience where the sailboat moves quickly through the waves. The crew keeps an eye on adjusting the sails and the skipper on the passage of the waves to ensure the best glide. Everyone is focused on their role while letting themselves be intoxicated by the wind and sea spray. It is these emotions I felt when sailing that I want to convey in my series of sailboats.
In technical terms it is an oil painting on… cotton canvas with a gesso preparation and collages of paper and sand to give even more energy to the whole.

Alain Abramatic, painter passionate about water and earth, uses oil paint and collages on a textured canvas. He energetically prints marks with a brush and plays with transparencies to create dynamic vibrations, enriched with colors and textures revealed by sand. His works, full of finesse, express the sensations of detailed movement and energy of wind, waves and sailboats, inviting a journey linked to his personal experiences and memories.
