About this artwork
Let those who are already angry with me imagine what war was like for so many very young boys: four years of long vacations. (Raymond Radiguet, Le Diable au corps)
This series is devoted to what the artist could name as fragments of memories. traces of life borrowed from nature, from the city, from men and left as memorial messages. This is to try to find the essence, the origins, the very foundations of life. Thanks to the imprints-memories or… memory imprints, left by the passage from one state to another, the artist tries to create links towards other dimensions. He tries to offer other visions of a constantly moving universe.

« Before starting to paint, the canvas is already full and I can only think by images. The confrontation with the raw canvas then involves the need to eliminate any apparent ease. »
Alain Cabot is an experienced artist from France whose works have been featured in exhibitions internationally. Working in mixed media, Cabot explores the concept of hybridization in his paintings, combining collage, paper, paints, and other raw materials glued onto the canvas. This concept transfers to his subject matter as well, as he superimposes an imaginary world onto reality, giving each work an unresolved opposition.
