This work is inspired by the expressive energy of Willem de Kooning, the golden butterflies of the Riviera Maya, and the luminous beauty of coastal nature. It captures the sensation of sunlight dancing on the skin and shimmering across the sea, evoking warmth, movement, and lightness.
Through layered acrylic and oil pastel, I explore fluid gestures and vibrant tones that reflect the feeling of floating in water, suspended between sky and sea. The… composition unfolds intuitively, guided by a sense of freedom and presence.
Echoing the Italian expression “baciata dal sole,” the piece invites a moment of surrender—resting, drifting, and embracing the joy of simply being. It is a celebration of pause, softness, and the quiet happiness found in connection with nature.
