About this artwork
This work belongs to the UNIVERSO project, where I explore the universe that surrounds us and to which we belong.
I love using the different materials that make up our lives, nature, and the environment around us (sand, stones, glass, paper, wood, fabric, and so on) as the best means to describe them and also to represent the infinity of the cosmos, the stars, and the universe.
In this case I used glass, gesso and acrylic paints on canvas to convey… the depth you feel when looking at the full moon.
When exposed to strong, intense light, the painting resembles a sun in a clear blue sky; when left in the shade, it resembles a full moon in a midnight blue sky. Many of my works have a highly evocative, tactile effect, in this case due to the use of glass and gesso fixed to the canvas.
