Alexander Demidov is a Belarusian artist who works within the figurative and allegorical genres. Inspired by late nineteenth and early twentieth century Russian art, Demidov creates a strikingly holistic and picturesque universe that is filled with metaphors and allegories, His oil paintings resemble a theatrical production, in which ironic and sentimental stylized images perform on the canvas and eternal themes such as love, death and friendship are explored.
