About this artwork
It is unclear whether she is putting on the pale blue coat or taking it off. The ambiguity is intentional: the coat becomes almost more present than the figure beneath it, flowing around her body like a veil or a temporary state.
The figure feels quiet and contained, moving away from the viewer. The work explores the space between exposure and protection, between being seen… and allowing oneself to disappear.
I chose watercolor for its fluid and unpredictable nature. Here, it gives the coat an airy, weightless quality, while the restrained figure creates a contrast between what is visible and what remains hidden.
As part of my exploration of letting go, (Un)veiling is about allowing a moment to remain unresolved — not knowing whether something is being revealed or gently put away.
