About this artwork
In my painting, the only thing that counts is the moment, the joy of painting. A dance with the colors, a destruction, a rebuilding. Ultimately a dialogue with the colors, the canvas and myself. Sometimes the pictures remain abstract, or then again, for example, a single color can be the trigger for a variety of compositions.
This is how the picture “happy occasion” was created.
A mixed technique in acrylic and quartz sand on canvas, executed mainly… with pencils and spatula. The result is a kind of still life.
The apparently motionless objects, as they are called in the historical art tradition, come to life in my picture. The flowers, perhaps also the long-stemmed glasses, combined with a pot/container are the visual focal points of the picture. The lines make them come alive, even a little "tipsy", and convey a certain cheerfulness, a joyful occasion.
Alfred Eggensperger is an intuitive artist who works primarily with acrylic paints and has a background as a stone sculptor. His techniques and styles are spontaneous and personal, a genuine expression of themes that touch him deeply. He draws on the KOAN "Clap One Hand" and creates a reality of intense emotionality through his works, rather than a mere copy of the obvious reality. Eggensperger's artwork expresses the feeling of intense connection with the natural world and a deeper, rude reality that is meant to be read between the lines.
