Alfred Eggensperger worked primarily as a sculptor in his youth, mainly in stone, but sometimes also in wood, creating both figurative and abstract works. In recent years, due to his personal development, he has focused primarily on color. The joy of painting. A dance with colors, a destruction, a reconstruction. A defining characteristic of all his work is his strong connection to nature. Since childhood, he has spent time in the mountains and by the sea; he loves the pure air, the clear water, and sleeping outdoors. His work develops from this attitude and mood, sometimes seemingly on its own.
Abstraction is also an interesting area for Alfred Eggensperger. Here, the aim is to activate introspection, to mentally absorb and combine colors, and then to transfer them to the canvas. Sometimes the trigger is a single color or a corresponding form.
