Alid Gerboles is a self-taught Cuban painter and digital artist with a background in the humanities, who has dedicated over a decade to abstract and symbolic art. He employs mixed media on canvas—acrylic, oil, charcoal, and graphite—fusing gestural expression, texture, layers, and human figures transformed into symbols, representing emotional maps. His style explores fragility and the ancestral in dialogue with the contemporary, using abstraction to address themes of identity, migration, and memory.
