About this artwork
“Gate IX — The Hermit” card represents the search for truth, introspection, and deep wisdom. In my interpretation, I drew inspiration from the Greek philosopher Diogenes, who lived in a barrel and walked the streets with a lantern, claiming to search for an honest man. I wanted to capture that piercing gaze — one that looks straight into the soul, seeking truth. This is not just about isolation, but an active quest for meaning and true understanding.…
The lantern symbolizes inner guidance, while the Hermit embodies the seeker of spiritual and philosophical truths.
