About this artwork
Another surreal take on the antique Dutch windmill. The storage shed roof takes on the role of a cliff perch and the heavily corrugated windmill interrupted in its oscillations by asymmetric structures has the feel of a medieval castle. Here the mathematics is working at several levels of spatial distortion. One of a kind signed original

« I believe that most of reality lies beneath the surface of perception and my mathematical art is an effective way to glimpse that hidden universe in tangible form. »
Allen Hirsh is an artist based in the United States whose paintings have been featured in solo exhibitions nationally. The central theme in his art is the unveiling of a universe of hidden images derived from ordinary photographs through the use of mathematical equation sets as "brushes" and photographs as "paint". Hirsh's abstract "mathematical art" also combines surrealist and impressionist imagery.
