About this artwork
Battlefield NY (Remix) is a resurrection. It began on the cold pavement of NYC while I fought for my life against addiction. I painted the original 36x24 work in Central Park at night, using my hands and fingers to capture a soul in conflict—nature vs. progress, spirit vs. darkness.
With no place to store it, I sold the original to a kind Moroccan shop owner for $10 and a lunch. Before leaving, I snapped one frantic photo and uploaded it to the cloud,… praying I’d one day be stable enough to "excavate" that image. Two years later, sober in Spokane, WA, I found a snow-covered box at my door. A friend had tracked down the original and shipped it 2,500 miles with a note: "You won the battle, my friend."
I digitally "Remixed" this piece to uncover hidden "ghost images" invisible to the naked eye. This limited edition is a fusion of physical grit and digital alchemy—proof that the vessel survives. Hand-signed and numbered. Cert. of Authenticity and NFT. Original 36x24 available: $15,000.
