About this artwork
Tempus is part of my Royal Alchemy series, an artistic journey where transformation is not an event, but a state. A quiet accumulation of time, pressure, and memory.
In this work, time does not flow, it settles. Natural and metallic pigments, layered textures, and an eroded surface hold traces of what has passed, like a skin that no longer hides anything. Cracks and fissures do not speak of fragility, but of endurance.
Tempus emerged from the need… to understand what remains when everything slows down. Suspended between solidity and vulnerability, between tension and calm, the work preserves a state of stillness. It does not tell a story, but invites an inner recognition, where time no longer weighs, it rests.
The artwork is professionally sealed with varnish to protect the surface and preserve the texture.
Ana Köpe is a painter and visual artist from Transylvania, now based in Austria, whose mixed media works are shaped by her engineering background and fascination with structure, balance, and transformation. She employs layered techniques with marble powder, binders, natural and metallic pigments, encouraging surfaces to crack and erode organically. Her tactile material landscapes evoke the enduring emotions found in memory and presence, offering both wounds and healing, inviting viewers to contemplate traces and silent echoes left behind by time.
