About this artwork
Divant I marks a turning point. It carries the feeling of an ending that has already begun, and of something new that is not yet fully formed.Tension is still present, but it no longer holds everything in place. It begins to loosen, allowing fractures and openings to appear.
This work speaks about transition.About the moment when control weakens and matter starts to change its own direction. The surface does not collapse, but it no longer resists in… the same way.I work with marble flour, acrylics, and natural pigments to let this shift remain visible rather than resolved.
The artwork is professionally sealed with varnish to protect the surface and preserve the texture.
Ana Köpe is a painter and visual artist from Transylvania, now based in Austria, whose mixed media works are shaped by her engineering background and fascination with structure, balance, and transformation. She employs layered techniques with marble powder, binders, natural and metallic pigments, encouraging surfaces to crack and erode organically. Her tactile material landscapes evoke the enduring emotions found in memory and presence, offering both wounds and healing, inviting viewers to contemplate traces and silent echoes left behind by time.
