About this artwork
This pastel painting was made live while looking at the stunning cherry blossom in the Spring. It somewhat reminds me of one of my favourite Van Gogh's paintings, "almond blossoms" which I saw live in Amsterdam once, even though when I painted it I was now thinking of it, just observing what was in front of me...
