About this artwork
Original oil painting on canvas. Painted with the squeegee.
When the moon rises, the night breaks, the shadows darken, and the moonlight reveals only shadows, then you feel the night. Everything is getting softer, darker, more mysterious. I wanted to banish that feeling on the screen. I wanted to paint it with the technique and in the style of Gerhard Richter.
The new Potsdam Barberini Museum in Potsdam had a large Richter exhibition in 2017.… I was inspired and inspired. I experimented with the oils and the squeegee. In the following years a whole series of paintings emerged in this technique. They quickly became one of my best-selling paintings.

« When the mind is still, the creative power flows; a work of art emerges from the grace of the moment. »
Anando Arnold is an experienced German artist who has exhibited his work in Germany, Spain and India since the 1990s. Firmly believing that less is more, he composes paintings centred on the restriction to seemingly simple forms and rhythms, producing expressive images that invite you to look, without feeling obtrusive.
