About this artwork
This minimalist black-and-white painting explores the moment of separation — a clean, almost surgical line that divides one whole into two paths. I wanted to capture the quiet tension that appears when something solid shifts, breaks, or transforms.
The textured surface adds depth to the contrast, making the split feel both inevitable and strangely harmonious.
A simple form with a strong emotional undertone — Split invites viewers to reflect on change,… choice, and the beauty found in contrast.

Krykun, a mixed media artist, brilliantly blends acrylic base and texture pastes with charcoal, pencils, sepia, and fineliners. She combines abstract painting with graphic elements creating dynamic, multi-layered paintings filled with energetic lines and brush strokes that alternates between broad, expressive brushstrokes and fine, graphic lines. In her work, you will find familiar forms reinterpreted through abstract compositions that play with contrasts of smooth curves and geometric distortions. Weaving a tapestry of emotions, Krykun's paintings invite viewers to perceive the world as she does- always reinventing and reflecting.
