About this artwork
In "Alternating Currents," Andrea Benetti stages a visual symphony in which the tension between order and disorder translates into pulsating energy. The forms, recognizable in their Neo-Cave lexicon, resemble archetypal circuits traversed by curved lines that evoke electrical flows or cosmic trajectories. The chromatic balance between earth tones, acid greens, light blues, and muted reds establishes a visual rhythm that suggests alternation, transformation,…
and exchange. Each element is simultaneously form and symbol, as if each sign holds an archaic meaning to be deciphered. The bas-reliefs, created by working the plaster background, amplify the work's tactile sense, lending it an almost stone quality. Benetti thus constructs a mental landscape, where memory and technology merge, and where the flowing current is not only electrical, but also emotional, spiritual, and narrative. A work that invites a dialogue between eras and civilizations.

Andrea Benetti is the author of the Manifesto of Neo-Rock Art, presented at the 53rd Venice Biennale. His works have been acquired by international art collections and museums (United Nations, Vatican, Quirinale, Chamber of Deputies, etc.). Several universities have conducted graduate research on his art. He has collaborated with many universities to organize exhibitions and seminars on Neo-Rock Painting (Universities of Bari, Bergamo, Bologna, Ferrara, Johns Hopkins University, Lecce, Messina, Roma Tre, and Venice). In 2020, he won the "Nettuno d'Oro" Award from the city of Bologna. His biography appears in major encyclopedias, including Treccani, De Agostini, and WikiArt, and is translated into 45 languages on Wikipedia.
