About this artwork
With "Sinapsi," Andrea Benetti explores the invisible dimension of thought, transposing onto canvas a symbolic map of neural flow and mental energy. Anthropomorphic forms and geometric elements intertwine like electrical impulses coursing through brain synapses, suggesting a neuro-aesthetic interpretation of the work. The figures move along sinuous black lines that recall neural circuits, generating connections between astral symbols and archaic…
forms. The use of oxides, combined with the bas-relief technique, lends depth and texture, while the palette of earthy and pastel tones creates a balance between tension and harmony. The depicted universe seems suspended between primitive memory and contemporary imagination, evoking cave art but grafted onto a highly modern visual language. Sinapsi is thus a journey into the mind, where rationality dissolves into a visual dance of signs, rhythm, and ancestral reminiscences.

Andrea Benetti is the author of the Manifesto of Neo-Rock Art, presented at the 53rd Venice Biennale. His works have been acquired by international art collections and museums (United Nations, Vatican, Quirinale, Chamber of Deputies, etc.). Several universities have conducted graduate research on his art. He has collaborated with many universities to organize exhibitions and seminars on Neo-Rock Painting (Universities of Bari, Bergamo, Bologna, Ferrara, Johns Hopkins University, Lecce, Messina, Roma Tre, and Venice). In 2020, he won the "Nettuno d'Oro" Award from the city of Bologna. His biography appears in major encyclopedias, including Treccani, De Agostini, and WikiArt, and is translated into 45 languages on Wikipedia.
