In “Medioevo”, Andrea Benetti intertwines the historical and symbolic memory of an era with the visual language of Neorupestre, the movement he created to reconnect contemporary art to its most archaic roots. The work is made with oil, coffee and oxides on bas-relief with a chalk base on canvas, a technique that creates an intense and vibrant material surface, rich in textures and contrasts. recurring, evoke ancestral symbols, while the balanced composition and earthy colour range convey a sense of order and mystery. The title alludes to a time of transition and profound cultural stratification, suggesting a reflection on the present through the filter of the past. Benetti thus transforms art into an archetypal map, where each figure becomes a sign of a collective narrative that spans the centuries and becomes universal.

Andrea Benetti is the author of the Manifesto of Neo-Rock Art, presented at the 53rd Venice Biennale. His works have been acquired by international art collections and museums (United Nations, Vatican, Quirinale, Chamber of Deputies, etc.). Several universities have conducted graduate research on his art. He has collaborated with many universities to organize exhibitions and seminars on Neo-Rock Painting (Universities of Bari, Bergamo, Bologna, Ferrara, Johns Hopkins University, Lecce, Messina, Roma Tre, and Venice). In 2020, he won the "Nettuno d'Oro" Award from the city of Bologna. His biography appears in major encyclopedias, including Treccani, De Agostini, and WikiArt, and is translated into 45 languages on Wikipedia.
