About this artwork
In "Impressioni" (2011), Andrea Benetti develops a language that unites primal gesture and symbolic form in a continuous visual flow. Extending vertically like an archaic scroll, the work is composed of sinuous signs and biomorphic forms that seem to float on a chalky, bas-relief background. or archetypal forms chase one another along curved trajectories that traverse the entire composition, evoking interior maps or ritual dances. The title "Impressioni" suggests a perceptive, not descriptive, dimension: the work does not represent, but rather allows visual memories and layered sensations to surface. In this organic flow, Benetti confirms his Neo-Cave poetics, where the sign is an echo of a distant but still living time, and art becomes a bridge between the origin and the present of the human gesture.

Andrea Benetti is the author of the Manifesto of Neo-Rock Art, presented at the 53rd Venice Biennale. His works have been acquired by international art collections and museums (United Nations, Vatican, Quirinale, Chamber of Deputies, etc.). Several universities have conducted graduate research on his art. He has collaborated with many universities to organize exhibitions and seminars on Neo-Rock Painting (Universities of Bari, Bergamo, Bologna, Ferrara, Johns Hopkins University, Lecce, Messina, Roma Tre, and Venice). In 2020, he won the "Nettuno d'Oro" Award from the city of Bologna. His biography appears in major encyclopedias, including Treccani, De Agostini, and WikiArt, and is translated into 45 languages on Wikipedia.
