About this artwork
Dreamers belongs to the collection "A Primitive in the Third Millennium," a cycle in which Andrea Benetti imagines the symbols a caveman would depict projected into the contemporary world. In this work, stylized human figures and hearts suspended like balloons evoke a basic and universal iconography, where sentiment becomes the primary symbol. affection, desire, fragility, and connection. The bas-relief on a plaster background lends texture and a tactile presence, while the use of oil, spices, and oxides creates a vibrant, layered surface. The soft, harmonious colors accentuate the dreamlike dimension of the whole. The work thus translates the language of cave art into a contemporary key, transforming the dream into a symbol shared between past and present.

Andrea Benetti is the author of the Manifesto of Neo-Rock Art, presented at the 53rd Venice Biennale. His works have been acquired by international art collections and museums (United Nations, Vatican, Quirinale, Chamber of Deputies, etc.). Several universities have conducted graduate research on his art. He has collaborated with many universities to organize exhibitions and seminars on Neo-Rock Painting (Universities of Bari, Bergamo, Bologna, Ferrara, Johns Hopkins University, Lecce, Messina, Roma Tre, and Venice). In 2020, he won the "Nettuno d'Oro" Award from the city of Bologna. His biography appears in major encyclopedias, including Treccani, De Agostini, and WikiArt, and is translated into 45 languages on Wikipedia.
