About this artwork
In my work, I have fused oil, etching, plaster, resin and pigments to create an atmosphere that reflects pop culture and metaphysical symbolism. It is a vibrant painting, full of energy and nostalgia, where playful icons dialogue with the observer, provoking a reflection on youth and love. Each element transmits vitality, making this work a focal point of pure enthusiasm and color for any environment.
With this Collection, Andrea Benetti enjoys… imagining what a hypothetical caveman would paint, catapulted into contemporaneity. If in prehistory he painted mammoths, aurochs, bison, reindeer, because they were the subjects that surrounded him, Benetti hypothesizes what he would paint today, selecting contemporary subjects and effectively creating a neo-iconography.

Andrea Benetti is the author of the Manifesto of Neo-Rock Art, presented at the 53rd Venice Biennale. His works have been acquired by international art collections and museums (United Nations, Vatican, Quirinale, Chamber of Deputies, etc.). Several universities have conducted graduate research on his art. He has collaborated with many universities to organize exhibitions and seminars on Neo-Rock Painting (Universities of Bari, Bergamo, Bologna, Ferrara, Johns Hopkins University, Lecce, Messina, Roma Tre, and Venice). In 2020, he won the "Nettuno d'Oro" Award from the city of Bologna. His biography appears in major encyclopedias, including Treccani, De Agostini, and WikiArt, and is translated into 45 languages on Wikipedia.
