The work displays a highly material-focused, informal surface composed of superimposed shades of gray and beige. The visible traces of application and removal are reminiscent of the tactile, earthy visual language of Antoni Tàpies, in whom the material itself becomes the vehicle of expression. The intense blue horizon line creates a striking contrast and opens a clear, energetic moment within the sedimented structure.

Germany
Andrea Finck is a contemporary painter with a background in archaeology and ancient art history. Her work explores themes of landscape, time, and cultural memory.
Starting with natural and coastal landscapes, multi-layered pictorial spaces emerge in which color, material, and layering overlap. Landscape is understood as a vehicle of time and perception, not as a mere representation.
In her work, painting and printmaking combine to create open processes between observation, transformation, and dissolution.
Her works have been shown in national and international exhibitions and are held in private collections.
“Your work transforms memory, archaeology, and material process into artworks that feel both intellectually rich and deeply tangible.” -Kurt Beers, London
