About this artwork
Here, one encounters not a triumphant flight, but a tentative beginning. A relief-like figure rises from a dense structure of red, blue, and shimmering metallic patches, as if it must first work its way through its own weight. The surface is multi-layered, troweled, poured, and reworked; every trace points to a process that is not linear, but unfolds in a struggle with the material.
The title guides the perception: it's about the attempt, not the… result. The suggested wings appear both powerful and vulnerable, as if poised between grounding and ascending. This creates a visual state that tells less of a story than it unleashes a feeling – the moment when courage becomes more important than certainty.
