About this artwork
“Pink Fire I” develops from a vertical movement, in which a brightened area opens upwards from the depths of the picture space. Yellow and white tones are accompanied by subtle reddish accents, creating an inner glow that gives the work its characteristic radiance.
This area is surrounded by fragmentary structures in shades of blue and brown, which shift and overlap, repeatedly drawing the eye into the depths. Between them, glimpses emerge that… expand the pictorial space while simultaneously providing a sense of calm orientation.
The surface is composed of several layers and shows traces of a lengthy work process. Sealed and open areas alternate, enhancing the differentiated depth effect.
