About this artwork
The pyramid of the magician is shown, which is one of the main buildings of the Uxmal ruins in Yucata / Mexico. During his visit in 2008, the artist noticed the many iguanas that were always present in, on and between the ruins - like the secret guards of the temple. On the other hand, in his painting "El Guardián" (The Guardian) can only be discovered if you look closely. Do you see him?
« Art that fascinates me is often like a symbiosis of philosophical magic and good craft. »
Andreas Garbe is an artist based in Germany whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Switzerland. Working abstractly with figurative and representational influences, his diverse compositions are both atmospheric and philosophical. In addition, Garbe explores themes relating to social issues, literature, meditation, and sensory perception. His landscapes, figurative pieces and abstractions are created using acrylics, oils, and resin on canvas.
