Inspired by an ancient relic depicting a stylized bull's head. Expressively built up with many layers of paint, the coloring and the haptic surface structure are particularly striking in this work.
The technique with which he applies countless layers of paint over a long period of time, incorporates details and then allows them to disappear again, has been one of his basic working methods since the beginning of his artistic work. The aim is to… simulate a naturally created surface, which often only allows further planning of the completion of the subject in the last few weeks of its completion.
