About this artwork
In 2018 Andreas Wolf started a series of works in which he transfers the imagery of his oil paintings to watercolors. In contrast to its great
format paintings, the watercolors are derived from drafts. The surfaces are painted and don't mean painted over anymore. The images appear more like conceived architectures of an abstract world. These works also have no titles. As a result, the watercolors remain more open for viewers to develop their own… ideas and ideas about the pictures.
The picture comes with a frame, the glass is a plexiglass plate, so it is more shatterproof than window glass.

Andreas Wolf is an experienced German artist with international exposure. Each of his paintings is created by layering oil, acrylic and spray paint on canvas over a period of about six to twelve months. Wolf's paintings are neither titled nor based on some hidden concept. Rather, the artist starts each new work with a single point or line on the blank canvas and responds to this mark, intuitively building upon it. This process continues until Wolf feels that every single element of the picture is interacting.
