About this artwork
Gems have fascinated people with their magical beauty for ages. The glittering and sparkling treasures are a symbol of eternity, power and wealth. To make this fascination clear, I have explored the color sense of gemstones.
I photographed different gemstones and split color-spectrum programs with the help of a color-analyst program. From color coded end I modeled a Qwadrat picture. A perfect carré cut.

Russian artist Andrej Barov was born in Leningrad in 1958. He graduated in 1981 from the Leningrad Theater, a theatre study at the School of Music and Film. Since 1988, he has been a freelance artist in Munich, Germany.
