About this artwork
The Pair is an acrylic exercise in creating an atmospheric series of paintings with the color Orange as a vibrant foundational color. The Pair is third in the series of four.
The color Orange in the piece represents multiple relevance ( or meaning). Orange is a beginning of Fall color apropos for early October. A color also integral to Gilbert Bajer’s LGBTQ Flag: Healing. The color also tends to highlight mental sensirs that reach into our… excitement caverns of the mind. Orange isn’t a subtle color and can stand as a focal color in modern arts pieces. It is also a color that lends to room design and decor .
« I am a self-taught oil painter who seeks to capture your eye as a portal to that part of the brain which can lead to interest, likes, wants... »
Exciting US painter Andy Hollimon has never taken an art class in his life. It was after military service and a business career, that Hollimon discovered his natural gift for painting. Working mainly with oil paints, Hollimon is a realist painter, but admits to approaching realism with 'on canvas twists'. Such twists include surprising color schemes, moments of abstraction, and perspective shifts. Hollimon's paintings are luminous, mysterious, and joyful. Full of revelations, they invoke delight and invite contemplation.
