This work tells the story of the moment when inner turmoil is no longer just a rupture, but a possibility.
The cool tones—blues, violets, hints of turquoise—layer like contrasting thoughts, emotions that collide without destroying each other. The pictorial material is dense, but not oppressive: it opens toward the center, where the light takes hold.
Here, dissonance isn't denied, it's transformed. The chromatic contrasts, rather than exploding,… intertwine in a fragile yet vibrant balance. Chaos gives way to a slow breath, a silence charged with presence.
It's a transitional image: from conflict to coexistence, from shadow to light. There is no definitive solution, but a continuous dialogue between opposing forces. In this dialogue, harmony becomes possible.

Angela Cortese is an Italian artist who develops a contemporary abstract style characterized by broad pictorial spaces, gestural marks, and intense color contrasts. Her works emerge from layers of color, gesture, and texture that create immersive and dynamic compositions.
