About this artwork
This painting comes from a place of the soul: the lagoon of Bibione, where I often return to walk in silence, letting myself be crossed by the light and the colors that change with the sky. Every time, that landscape welcomes me like a house without walls. "Orizzonti" is the visual synthesis of that experience, an emotion condensed in bands of color that tell of sky, earth and water reflections.
The painting does not faithfully reproduce what I… see, but what I feel in front of that calm expanse: an inner security, a sense of deep belonging. The brush strokes are free, instinctive, layered like memories. The colors - from vibrant purple to warm orange - speak of connection, of beauty, but also of rootedness.
In this work there is all my research: the fusion between exterior and interior, between real landscape and interior landscape. “Orizzonti” is a place to inhabit with the gaze, an invitation to slow breathing, to trust, to feel at one’s place in the world.

Angela Cortese is an Italian artist who develops a contemporary abstract style characterized by broad pictorial spaces, gestural marks, and intense color contrasts. Her works emerge from layers of color, gesture, and texture that create immersive and dynamic compositions.
Within these spaces, small figurative elements sometimes emerge, fragments of reality that emerge from the landscape of the unconscious and dialogue with the abstract dimension of the work.
The creative process often originates from a memory or an internal perception, which becomes a threshold for exploring emotions, memory, and vital energy.
His research is based on the concept of Psychosynthetic Art, inspired by the thought of Roberto Assagioli, in which color, gesture, and memory become tools for exploring inner experience.
