Pink Fizz, oil and enamel on canvas 100 x 100 x 3 cm
A Fizz, a pop, an effervescence of wild flowers. Champagne bubbles of blossom reach ever upwards toward the light, a froth of sweet candy petals, a Pink Fizz. A celebration of flamboyant wild flowers in tones of pale blush and bubble-gum pink next to indigo blue skies. Flashes of spindly yellow dandelions and gold shards of light. A spring time symphony of Pink.
I was inspired by the abundance… of spring time wildflowers covering the hills near my home. It is spectacular … although destined to be short lived as the sun grows stronger toward summer. I have included flashes of gold iridescent paint which captures and reflects light to suggest the sun rays. The paint is loose and expressionistic to suggest the moment and its fleetingness, like bubbles popping as they rise up to the sky. Pink Fizz
