About this artwork
Ringa Roses, twisted wild rose, climbing up the hedgerow, dancing in the sun.
Wild pink roses, petals blowing on the wind, thorny twisted branches and sweet perfume.
Ringa roses is full of contrasts. It has an abstract expressionist sky with fractured lines and shimmers of gold and suggested thorny branches, dripped and splashed onto the canvas so as to create random shapes. The orange red… and deep pink lowers are rich in colour and have beautiful blended tones throughout the petals. Delicate butterflies hover in the sky flitting and fluttering around the wild roses. The sky has iridescent powder sprinkled over the dripped paint which in glitters like fairy dust adding depth and a magical quality to the artwork like a gossamer layer or morning dew. Areas of gold leaf under the paint catch light and glisten as you walk by the painting. Ringa Roses brings light and happiness in to a room. It is ready to hang.
