About this artwork
This is an original artwork, painted on 1.5" thick gallery-wrapped canvas. The borders are painted. It can be hung as is, or framed for added stability and beauty.
I'm currently working on a new series called Renaissance. In this series my goal is to emphasize the
beauty and importance of objects that were once great technological inventions and irreplaceable in our
lives, but have become mostly forgotten. Nevertheless many of us attach strong sentimental… value to
them.
Objects such as a typewriter, movie projector, camera, and gramophone are depicted in my paintings in
a traditional realistic portrait style, set in a contemporary vibrant abstract background. The traditional
realism emphasizes the origins of the vintage objects and the contemporary abstract background is a
link to our modern day society. Similarly the combination of cool and warm color palettes for the
depicted objects and backgrounds reinforces the visual contrast between the objects and the settings.

Anna Ganina is a Ukrainian born artist residing in the United States whose paintings have been featured in numerous solo exhibitions nationally. Through her art, she uncovers and celebrates the symbolism of daily life. Employing varying mediums, Ganina plays with light, color, and texture, creating multi-layered surfaces in the exploration of her subjects. She utilizes acrylics, cement, marble powder, cheesecloth, and wax in her artistic process.
