About this artwork
A still life in the tradition of European painting - with story and character.
Two freshly caught fish and a couple of onions, one already peeled - a simple scene, yet rich with atmosphere. This is not just food - it’s an image of time: of silence, labor, and honest craft. There is no decoration here, only the sincerity of objects and quiet tension, as if from an old tale.
The dense background is built with both palette knife and brush, blending… earth, salt, and light into a textured surface. Cool silver accents on the fish and warm ochres in the onions create contrast and subtle drama.
This still life is a reminder that simplicity often holds the deepest meaning. It speaks of the life cycle, of food culture as a sacred act - just as the old masters once did.
Ideal for interiors in classic, modern, or Scandinavian style - especially kitchens, dining rooms, cafes, wine boutiques, or home collections.

She is a laureate of the international competition HABITUS BALTIJA (2004) and a participant in the collective exhibition ART WOMAN '97.
